Product Description

Radiate warmth and opulence with The Agni Sona Pure Tanchui Silk Saree.

This magnificent handloom saree is a true heirloom, woven using the highly specialized Tanchoi (Tanchui) technique. This intricate method interlocks the weft threads of the motifs so seamlessly that the design appears identical on both sides, ensuring a smooth finish and supreme comfort.

The saree is dyed in a commanding Vermillion Red/Deep Orange—a colour symbolizing power and auspiciousness. The entire body is a canvas for an unbroken chain of small, repeating motifs, densely woven in lustrous Antique Gold Zari. This all-over brocade effect gives the saree a substantial, luxurious weight and an ethereal metallic shimmer that catches every light.

With its perfect, rich drape and unmatched craftsmanship, The Agni Sona is the ultimate choice for a bride, a wedding guest, or any major festival. Pair it with layered gold jewellery to honor its royal heritage.

FAQs

Tanchui is a specialized brocade weaving technique, traditionally originating from Banaras, that uses an extra weft thread to create the design. The key feature is that the motifs are woven so closely that they appear self-coloured or tone-on-tone, and the weaving floats (extra threads) are eliminated on the back, making the fabric exceptionally smooth and soft to the touch.

Given that it is Pure Silk with dense, all-over Zari motifs woven in the Tanchui style, this saree is considered to be of heavy to substantial weight. This weight is characteristic of high-quality ceremonial silk and provides the desired structured, elegant drape.

High-quality silk dyes are generally used, but as a precaution, we always recommend the first clean be done via Dry Cleaning. This ensures the richness of the silk colour is fully locked in and preserves the integrity of the metallic Zari threads.

Due to the fine quality of the pure silk and the density of the Zari, the saree will exhibit a beautiful, radiant glow in both natural light and indoor lighting. The gold Zari will appear brighter and more defined against the deep red silk under bright lights.

No, absolutely not. Pure Silk Handloom Sarees should never be starched. Starching is reserved for cotton handlooms. For this Pure Tanchui Silk saree, only Dry Clean Only is recommended to maintain its softness, sheen, and the integrity of the silk and Zari fibres.
